Science Fiction Parody
Megalomaniacs and Gigantophobs, Volume 126, 2026

Ring worlds—habitable artificial celestial bodies shaped like rings orbiting a star—represent the most imaginative inventions in science fiction. Life on them in the very distant future has often been described in original and creative ways, but authors have mostly avoided thinking about the technology needed to build them. Now, light is being shed on this mystery. Furthermore, this technology has several much more advanced versions that can only be realized in the very, very distant future. By then, even humans will no longer exist in the form we know them.
This science fiction parody is the expanded, elaborated version of the excerpt “Ringworld Projects” (Megalomaniacs and Gigantophobics, Volume 58).
